The Video Entertainment segment of Naspers is a broad-based multinational media group headquartered in South Africa and Dubai with principal operations in pay television and video entertainment. The group operates in almost 50 countries in Africa. Its holding company, Naspers, is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and has an ADR listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). International investors account for around 50% of its shareholder base.
An African platform operator, Video Entertainment’s expertise lies distributing media products, creating media content and selling advertising. Its key areas of operations are:
Pay Television: direct-to-home satellite and digital terrestrial television services; and
SVOD: subscription video on demand services across multiple online platforms with a focus on library and local content in developing markets
Operating in the majority of African countries, Video Entertainment is the leading Pay TV provider in most of the key African markets. Its strategy is to offer the best local and international content across multiple platforms to customers wherever they are.

Purpose of the Position:
The key purpose of this role is to support business units to drive operational effectiveness through the implementation of Human Resource best practice. The incumbent must have an in depth understanding of the business unit in order to deliver initiatives which enable the business unit to deliver on its objectives



Key Performance Objectives
Support and enable business units in meeting their objectives through the application of HR principles and practices
Support the HR BP in execution of HR strategy
Implementation of relevant Centers of Excellence’ solutions to address key business challenges
Provides a generalist HR service to managers, supervisors and general staff
Identifies, coordinates and facilitates relevant HR workshops/interventions/initiatives as guided by the HR BP
Ensures high quality of services delivered (i.e. timeliness, accuracy, efficiency and responsiveness)
Ensures customer queries are escalated to the right level and right stakeholder until they are resolved to customer satisfaction
Advises and supports employees in understanding HR policy and services, and accessing service providers
Takes overall accountability for quality in the HR value chain / processes
Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships with HR Leadership, Business Leadership, wider HR community and Employees
Enable effective cross-functional working relationships to create and drive an integrated HR employee experience
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or equivalent


Experience / Skills
3 - 5 years of HR generalist experience
Knowledge and application of BCEA, Employment Equity, Labour Relations Act and Skills Development Act
Effective Communication (Written and Verbal)
Multiple stakeholder project facilitation
Implementation of relevant Centers of Excellence’ solutions to address key business challenges
Broad and comprehensive understanding of Human Resources concepts and principles
Knowledge and experience of the business and its intricacies
